Allergist, Immunologist

Dr. Gogna is a board certified allergist and clinical immunologist who will be joining The Allergy Center in August 2019. Previously she worked for four years in private practice in Central Massachusetts before relocating to the area to be closer to family. She grew up in New Delhi, India, where she became double board certified in pediatrics from Maulana Azad Medical College, one of the top-ranking pediatric institutes in India. She then worked as a chief resident in New Delhi and Mumbai before moving to the USA. She completed her residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and then worked as an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at Health Alliance hospital (UMASS) before pursuing fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the Children’s hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

Dr. Gogna’s research interests have included dyspeptic abdominal pain in children and food allergies. She conducted research, wrote her thesis and presented papers on abdominal pain and was a co-investigator on oral peanut desensitization at Children’s Hospital of Boston. Her research interests during her fellowship included establishing correlation between vitamin D insufficiency and risk of severe asthma exacerbations, asthma in Latin America and evaluating the correlation between obesity and allergic rhinitis.

Having suffered from allergies during most of her younger years, she has a personal perspective when treating patients with allergic disorders. She has 18 years of experience being a clinician and researcher in two different countries – both with diverse population, disease severity and medical infrastructure, which makes her very competent in managing complex and challenging cases. Before relocating to California, she received the Massachusetts Favorite Physician Award. She is also a member of the American College of Allergy and Immunology and the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology.

She is a mother of 11-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter. In her spare time, Dr. Gogna enjoys reading, watching movies, cooking, painting, hiking and dancing.

Currently she is seeing both pediatric and adult patients with allergic and immunologic disorders. She believes in providing equivalent care, empathy and respect to her patients that she would want for herself as a patient.
