POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of Clinical Director, performs advanced level professional technical work in application support analysis and application problem resolution. Incumbent participates in the analysis of software application problems, the development of solutions, testing and researching software solutions, as well as other tasks required to maintain files, produce reports, and trouble-shoot problems. Work is performed with considerable independence. Work assigned is reviewed through observation, conferences, periodic reports, and for results obtained. Performs other related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Identify provider and support staff training/optimization needs with EPIC EMR system.
- Improve the EPIC user experience by identifying user needs and workflow with system, research and provide solutions, troubleshoot as needed.
- Monitor, evaluate, and audit EPIC software for updates and new developments, communicate, train, and update staff and providers as needed.
- Onboarding/training for providers and staff
- Run audit reports in EPIC periodically for standard or custom data as needed by management.
- Assists in the periodic examination and evaluation of EPIC software to improve their effectiveness; analyzes programs and implements user software change requests.
- Assists staff in problem solving and in performing daily tasks.
- Work closely with application vendor providers to ensure timely resolution of all software related problems.
- Become an EPIC super user and provide user training.
- Monitor EPIC software processing on the computer to ensure integrity of results.
- Provides technical support to users and analyzes problems in operations of EPIC software applications.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge
- Very strong knowledge of EPIC
- Knowledge of the operating characteristics, capabilities, and limitations of electronic computer equipment.
- Knowledge of application support analysis and application procedures and techniques.
- Ability to learn application at a developed level and assist in teaching new users.
- Knowledge of research techniques, methods, and procedures.
- Ability to present oral and written reports clearly and concisely.
- Ability to conduct tests, analyzes test results, detect programming errors, and take proper corrective steps.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, employees and third party providers
- Skill in the application of computer principles to administrative needs.
Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience required
- 4+ years of EPIC experience
- EPIC super user preferred
