Susan Cordes

Otolaryngologist

Dr. Cordes is a board-certified otolaryngologist/head and neck surgeon and practices all aspects of adult and pediatric otolaryngology. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, the American College of Surgeons and the Triological Society. Dr. Cordes spent 14 years in academic otolaryngology and remains a volunteer professor at Indiana University School of Medicine. She has been practicing in northern California since 2014.

Dr. Cordes has a special interest in humanitarian efforts and has led surgical teams to Kenya annually since 2009. She is an honorary lecturer at Moi University School of Medicine in Eldoret, Kenya and has served a term as chair of the Humanitarian Efforts Committee of the American Academy of Otolaryngology. She has published research in the field of humanitarian otolaryngology, particularly related to thyroid surgery in limited resource settings.

Dr. Cordes is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and has served on several Academy committees and the Board of Governors. She served a term as chair of the Women in Otolaryngology Section and has received an Honor Award and a Distinguished Service Award for her service to the Academy.

Dr. Cordes is from northwest Indiana and attended DePauw University for her undergraduate degree. She graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her otolaryngology residency training at Indiana University Medical Center.
