Philip Bernstein, MD, MBChB
Dual board-certified in both otolaryngology and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Philip Bernstein has been practicing medicine in the Sacramento area since 1977. In addition to general otolaryngology, Dr. Bernstein specializes in facial aesthetic surgery and incorporates both specialties into the evaluation and treatment of his patients. He is highly trained in and knowledgeable of airway and sinus disease and is able to incorporate his expertise in these areas into his aesthetic rhinoplasty practice.
Dr. Bernstein has a wealth of experience in the surgical correction of the aging face and neck offers a full range of services in the management of these areas, including state-of–the-art laser aesthetic services. He has a gift for achieving the most natural and aesthetically pleasing results possible, always taking into account the balance and proportion of the patient’s face. Also, Dr. Bernstein has an additional clinical interest in obstructive airway disease, including the evaluation and management of sleep disorders.
Dr. Bernstein received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He then immigrated to the United States to complete his surgical internship followed by a surgical residency at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He then completed his residency in otolaryngology and his fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of California, Davis.
Dr. Bernstein is Fellow of the American Academy of Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is affiliated with Mercy General and Sutter Community Hospitals. He currently serves on the membership committee for the Sacramento County Society for Medical Improvement and is the past President for the Sacramento Society of Otolaryngologists and Facial and Reconstructive Surgery.
